Kirsten Martin
Goochland County Fire Rescue - Lieutenant
Kirsten Martin is a dedicated fire service leader with a passion for fostering inclusivity, professional development, and leadership growth within the fire service. With over two decades of experience, she currently serves as a Lieutenant with Goochland County Fire-Rescue, where she has excelled in both operational and administrative roles, driving efficiencies and spearheading new initiatives.
Kirsten holds a B.A. in Human Resource Management with a minor in Leadership from the University of Richmond and is currently pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University. She is also a student in the prestigious Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program and has completed the Managing Officer Program at the National Fire Academy, further demonstrating her commitment to fire service leadership.
In addition to her fire service career, Kirsten is an active mentor and advocate for professional development within the industry. She has been selected to present at the Fire Department Instructor Conference International (FDIC) in 2025 on using emotional intelligence to improve stress management. Her dedication to leadership development extends beyond her department, as she actively works to support and uplift women in the fire service.
