Katharine Myers
Morgan’s Point Fire Rescue
Katharine Myers began her career in EMS in 2019, initially believing she had aged out of the fire service due to the civil service requirements of local departments. However, in 2023, she joined Morgan’s Point Resort Fire-Rescue as a single-role medic. There, she quickly developed a passion for the fire service and sought the opportunity to cross-train as a firefighter. Within a year, she successfully obtained her TCFP Basic Structural Firefighting certification, and Wiland fire certifications, and remained eager to continue expanding her knowledge and skills.
When the opportunity arose to transition into a full-time position within the department, she recognized it as a chance to fulfill a long-standing dream and eagerly accepted the role.
While Katharine may not have direct experience as a State Representative for WIF, she brings a strong commitment to continuous learning and a deep passion for promoting the fire service. She is dedicated to encouraging and supporting individuals who are interested in pursuing this profession. Like many combination and volunteer departments across the county, her department actively seeks innovative strategies for recruitment and retention. Collaborating with WIF will allow her to further engage and inspire more individuals to join the fire service.
