Amy Hanifan - Immediate Past President

Amy Hanifan is the Operations Chief of the McMinnville Fire Department in McMinnville, Oregon. She has been in the fire service since early 2001, starting as a volunteer and eventually beginning a career as a Firefighter Paramedic. Earning varied roles in leadership, Amy has continuously been passionate about mentoring others in different stages of their careers. Throughout the years she has been involved with large community projects such as Toy and Joy and Fill the Boot. Amy was the Women in Fire project manager of the USFA document “Emerging Health and Safety Issues Among Women in the Fire Service,” released in March 2019. Other professional projects include the implementation of a peer support team, the development of a company officer training program, and the implementation of a new hire training academy.

Amy takes her training very seriously and has attended several abroad courses, including the National Fire Academy. She is currently enrolled in Eastern Oregon University’s Fire Administration program and already holds an A.S. in Paramedicine.
