To date, Khalilah has served as a member of the Baltimore City Fire Department for 18-years. During that time she has worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic in the Fire Operations bureau which consists of suppression, emergency medical services, and the special operations command. She has also served in the Fire Marshals Office, the Logistics Division and the Training Academy.

Over the course of Mrs. Yancey’s career she has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and is currently serving as a Captain. In this capacity she functions as the aide to the Fire Chief, and the Liaison to the Deputy Mayor of Public Safety.

Khalilah continues to grow professionally in the fire service by being a lifelong learner and active in various organizations such as: Women in Fire, International Association of Black Professional Firefighters, and a member of the National Fire Protection Associations Responder Forum.

She holds a degree in Occupational Safety and Health and is currently enrolled in the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute.
